Student Sharing

Throughout my three years in School of Law, CityUHK, I have truly treasured every single moment here. From the very beginning, I poured blood, sweat, and tears into every aspect of this journey, fueled by a genuine passion and unwavering desire to become a lawyer. The School of Law has tested my resolve, countless late nights and early mornings spent preparing for mock trials, finalising research assignments, or dissecting case law with friends who became a second family. Despite the challenges, I have always found meaning and motivation in the struggle, knowing that each step brings me closer to the profession I aspire to join.

One of the aspects I appreciate most is how the School has opened so many doors, whether through internships, exchange programmes, or scholarships, all designed to support my dream of entering the legal profession. Receiving distinctions such as placement on the Dean’s List for two consecutive years, the Lee Shau Kee Scholarship, and the Deacons Prize, gave me not just encouragement but also tangible evidence that hard work pays off. These recognitions have provided both financial support and confidence, a reassurance that pushing through adversity matters.

Exchange opportunities have been a highlight of my time in law school. Last year, I was fortunate to join the G-LEAP programme in Oxford, immersing myself in the academic life there and taking a deep dive into EU Competition Law. Walking the grounds of Oxford, engaging in intense discussions with students from around the world, and listening to faculty with unique perspectives broadened my understanding of law beyond textbooks and classrooms. This coming semester, I look forward to embarking on a semester exchange at Bocconi University. The anticipation of living and studying in Milan, experiencing a new legal system, and making international connections is both exciting and humbling.

What stands out most from my journey, however, is the sense of community. The friends I have made have been an indispensable part of my experience—whether in study groups tackling tough readings, during internships where we learned to lean on each other, or just sharing laughter after stressful days. Without this unwavering support, I, and many classmates, would not have made it this far. Law school is not just about textbooks and cases; it is about the people you meet, the challenges overcome together, and the memories made along the way. I am deeply grateful for all these moments and look forward to continuing this journey, carrying the lessons and friendships with me into the future.
